Hello and welcome to the latest issue of The Ghoulish Times. My name is Max Booth and this is my free spooky newsletter.
I’m going to jump right into today’s very exciting news.
We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a lease to relocate our physical bookstore from the outskirts of San Antonio (Selma) to the vibrant Southtown/King William District of downtown San Antonio.

We already have the keys and we will be slowly moving everything throughout the month of July, with intentions of re-opening at the new spot in early August (can’t give a specific date until we’ve set up and passed various city inspections). We will remain open at the Selma location until the end of July, and still make good on our event commitments for the month, such as Josh Rountree’s book launch on the 15th and our very last free secret movie night on the 26th. The store may start to get a little bare bones, display & furniture wise, but we will remain open until at least the 26th.
Beginning in August, our new address will be 628 S. St Mary’s, Suite 102, San Antonio TX 78205.

This is something we’ve wanted to do since expanding our publishing company into a bonafide bookstore back in April 2023, and we are absolutely stoked about the spot we’ve secured. If you’ve attended our massive Ghoulish Book Festival in the past, our new bookstore will be across the street from that venue, and like half a block down. (And yes, we plan on utilizing the festival venue for off-site events!)
Obviously, this will be an expensive process, requiring us to pay rent and bills at two different spots for July. Plus, we are due for a massive restock to make sure our new location is bursting with wonderful selections. We have created a DONATION OPTION on our website for anyone who would like to help fund the next chapter of Ghoulish Books.
We’ll also send a free BANNING BOOKS ONLY MAKES US SCARIER sticker to anybody in the United States who donates. However, if you’re not in the US, and you’re adding the donation to another order where you’re already paying for shipping, then we can throw in the sticker, too. Thank you.
This is the sticker btw:
