PUBLISHERS WEEKLY REVIEWS “A FEAST OF PUTRID DELIGHTS"

Publishers Weekly called Valentina Rojas's A FEAST OF PUTRID DELIGHTS "wonderfully disgusting" with "gorgeous, visceral prose." Read the full review HERE or just read the graphic below:

In this wonderfully disgusting horror novella from debut author Rojas, a chef attempts to piece her life back together after surviving the bombing of a queer club. Antonia’s path forward involves starting a trendy New York City restaurant, but even working herself to the bone can’t cure her insomnia. A string of sleepless nights brings her into the path of Booth, an enigmatic drug dealer distributing a hallucinogen called Cloud, and under its influence she’s finally able to get a good night’s sleep. As a side effect, however, her senses are left irrevocably altered, making all food and drink taste rancid and impossible to keep down. As she seeks answers from an increasingly elusive Booth and slowly uncovers the truth about what will satisfy her altered taste b uds, her life spirals out of control. Through gorgeous, visceral prose, Rojas explores survivor’s guilt, eating disorders, and alienation, frequently venturing into exciting and dangerous territory as Antonia’s mental state crumbles. An abrupt ending makes the story feel half-finished, however, and much of the ambitious setup goes unresolved. Still, fans of body horror and hallucinatory prose will find a lot to love.

Pre-order FEAST from our webstore HERE or by securing a Ghoulish membership. All pre-ordered paperbacks will receive a signed sticker from the author!

PASTE MAGAZINE SAYS UNCLE

We were ecstatic to recently reveal the cover for Ryan C. Bradley’s Say Uncle and drop an exclusive excerpt over on Paste Magazine’s website. Read the excerpt HERE. Check out the cover below:

Here is a photo of publisher (me) and author (Ryan) holding the very first physical copy in existence:

I hate most pictures of myself (this one included) but this is the level of dedication I give our authors. Never let anyone say that I haven’t made significant sacrifices as a small press publisher of horror fiction. (Ryan, I am joking, it’s a good picture and I’m glad we took it, please do not panic.)

THE SCARES THAT SHAPED MAX BOOTH

I was on the Scares that Shaped Us podcast to talk about The Gate, along with a bunch of other stuff.

podcast logo of a skeleton holding a purple book. or is the book blue? i can't tell. i am very tired.

It’s a fun conversation! Listen to it HERE.

Since I don’t post links publicly too often anymore as a way to combat spambots, if you want to join our (very active) horror discord, click HERE. We also have a Ghoulish subreddit now, although it’s not exactly bursting with activity yet. You could change that, however! YOU!

Okay goodbye.
