Parking Lot Milky Way

For this week, here are two songs I released this past Friday, “Parking Lot Milky Way” and “Fun Dip”. Click on the cover art below to listen to them on bandcamp. You can also read a blurb I wrote about the tracks here.

Thanks to Evan Thomas for mixing and mastering on Parking Lot Milky Way (he just released a lovely track of his own), and Jeremy Mauro for guitar on Fun Dip!
In less than two weeks, I’ll be opening for TV Sleep, Post No Bills, and Cometa Negra here in Brooklyn. See you there?

Misc. stuff I’m into:
Movies:
Sinners [2025, dir. Ryan Coogler]. Rewatched and wrote a long-ass review on letterboxd since the last newsletter.
Moonstruck [1987, dir. Norman Jewison]. Cher is stunning, Nicolas Cage is nuts, and men fear death.
Rewatched Everything Everywhere All At Once [2022, dir. Daniels] on a whim and cried through the entire thing.
Music:
Here’s the April music moodboard playlist, and below are some artists and albums I’ve loved recently:
the new Lorde single. Gonna be the saddest summer since 2017;
the new PUP record. Guitars and bass recorded in a way I can only describe as ‘obliterating’;
the new Flume x JPEGMAFIA EP. A joyful, silly, and evocative exploration of making music with your homie. The music video for Track 1 is something I have watched over and over.
Other stuff that I’m not necessarily ‘into’ but is important to mention:
please don’t rank Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of NYC. He is a deeply corrupt, megalomaniacal sex pest.
solidarity to the writers of the media website Polygon who were let go after the sale to Valnet. ‘Money line go up’ thinking is a fucking disease.
In the past few weeks I’ve seen Magdalena Bay twice (once at Terminal 5 and once at a 99 Scott DJ set), and Charli XCX. All three experiences were transcendent (MB played all of Imaginal Disk on Wednesday the 23rd and dropped Crazy Frog into Image on Thursday the 24th), but Charli was something else I…would have spilled a bunch of ink about, if Ryan Dombal hadn’t already said everything I’d want to say. That’s why he gets the big music journalist bucks.

Shoutout to Erin & Dennis for getting me spare tickets for Magdalena Bay and Charli XCX, respectively. Had a blast dancing with my friends, and they made Terminal 5 and Barclays Center feel like less terrible venues. Where would I be without you.
Thanks,
Will
P.S. here’s a photo of my cat Seven sitting like an idiot.
