[003] Summer Holding On
I'm travelling in South America. Here's what I'm up to, some photos and other bits
Autumn is truly here. Summer held on for a long time, then let go.
I just got back some photos I shot on a sunny day three weeks ago in late October. They show the pace of change at this time of year - blink and you'll miss it. Back then the trees were full, now many are bare. Autumn can be a short season.
These were the first photos I took on my new film camera. I've wanted a little point and shoot for a while, and went for a 1970's Olympus Trip 35 (£65 on Ebay). Nice to have limited stock and no fiddling with settings - just snap what you see.
I hope the photos transport you back a few weeks. They are taken around Kennington Park in South London.
I've been very moved by this Karen Dalton song lately. The original is a classic where Dalton's voice breaks in and out and tears your heart out. This alternate take is light and free, sunny and hopeful.

Take care,
