Local Gardening Events in February 2025 (updated)
Your free monthly roundup of gardening events, plant sales and green community projects, happening in Prince Edward County and the surrounding areas.

Now that we’ve been thoroughly swamped with snow and blown about a bit, it’s a great time to think about seed sowing. Lucky for us, there’s some wonderful local events coming up to help with exactly that!
Garden clubs are now starting to share their events schedules for the year ahead, so be sure to check out the list of local clubs at the end of this email if you want to begin planning your calendar beyond February.
🕰️ Now’s The Time
…to organise your seeds!
Many of us have now received our free seed orders from Ottawa’s Wildflower Seed Library. A big thank you to the volunteers who sorted, packaged and sent out so many seed orders!
If you’re looking at your tattered old seed envelopes and wondering how to make nice little origami seed packets (like the ones made by the seed library) then you might be interested in this tutorial from Get Busy Gardening.
💡 Save time on paper-trimming by using sticky post-it notes instead: they’re already square and nearly the right size (a little smaller). Just make sure the sticky part is on the outside before you add seeds.
