The Playdate Special [Toschi Recap #03]
Hi, Toschi here, and welcome to newsletter recap #03! Once more, thank you for reading it and following my articles and projects in the web. If you like, why not recommend the blog (or the newsletter) to a friend? The worst that can happen is that they insults me and I accept the risk.
Talking about personal life is not a thing that I do every day on the internet, but those past two weeks are being really hard for a lot of reasons. This e-mail hasn’t a lot of new content, but it’s what I could do to have a little bit of fun during those bad days. I hope the next weeks are better for me and you. <3
If you want to follow the example and talk to me about anything, just reply this email! You can also find me surviving on Twitter or hanging out on Bluesky, Mastodon or Cohost. If you forget to check your inbox, you can also try my Telegram channel or my Steam curator profile. Now for the news!
latest from the blog
After months of cranking and experimenting, my mega review of the Playdate is live! This yellow portable device from Panic is amazing if you like strange games like me, and it was a blast to talk about it (and ALL the TWENTY-FOUR games that comes with it for free). You can expect more Playdate content in the future too!
In the PC, I also reviewed the potion management sim The Magical Mixture Mill that left early access last month. With cool alchemy mechanics but a boring structure, I can only recommend it for fans of the genre. (6/10)
shhh, spoilers
More Playdate is coming to the blog! Two devs kindly sent me their games for review and you can see them in the next weeks: the arcade-like YOYOZO and the escape-like The Scrolling Enigma.
On the PC, I’m finishing Botany Manor on the PC Game Pass and don’t tell anyone yet, but the game is already one of my favorites of the year. Look for a review of it this weekend.
And on the Nintendo Switch, stitch. is my actual jam. Revealed in this week’s Indie World, this colorful puzzle just clicked in my brain and I cannot wait to talk more about it.
Yes, my digital game inspired by escape rooms is still in the works. Hope to have more spoilers soon!

planet clue is one of my favorite YouTube channels ever - and if you like 2000s gaming tech, it would be yours too. Their last video about the ToyQuest's Go Go TV Video Vision game console is amazing.
Do you like data visualization? Even if you not, this really cool video about Wikipedia will mesmerize your eyes and your curious brain.
I came across a 2-minute video about the Nintendo DS wireless icons. That’s it.
If you still use Twitter, I’m sorry. AND you may have heard how its stupid owner is challenging the Brazilian’s supreme court. Me and a lot of people are migrating to other apps because of that, and if you are on Bluesky, you also NEED to look into the TweetDeck-like interface deck.blue. It changed everything to me.
