Charity bundles & aliens [Toschi Recap #05]
Hi, Toschi here, and welcome to newsletter recap #05! Once more, thank you for reading it and following my articles and projects in the web. Why not recommend the blog (or the newsletter) to a friend?
If you live outside of Brazil, you may not know yet of the historic flooding that ravaged the Rio Grande do Sul state, leaving hundreds of persons under water, leading to a devastating impact in local communities and individuals all over the state.
In face of this scenario, game developers from Brazil have joined forces to create the support bundle PACOTÃO SOLIDÁRIO, aiming to collect funds for flood victims by donating to reputable disaster relief organizations. I’m helping a little with the organization, and my print-and-play game Tabletop Arcade: Roll & Snake is part of the bundle too!
New keys will be available NEXT MONDAY (May 20th) during the day — please check the social pages of Frame (on Twitter) and Ctrl Alt (on Instagram) to get more information about them. If you are outside the country, you can use international credit cards to get the bundle too.
If you want to talk to me, just reply this email! You can also find me surviving on Twitter or hanging out on Bluesky, Mastodon or Cohost. If you forget to check your inbox, you can also try my Telegram channel or my Steam curator profile. Now for the news!

Three more reviews were posted those last weeks, including some of the best games I played this year:
Crow Country (9/10): wait, a survival horror game? Yes! This one has an Exploration Mode that removes combat and make it a puzzle adventure game and it’s amazing. Available on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
Mars After Midnight (8/10): the most expected Playdate exclusive and the new game by Lucas Pope is a silly and wholesome alien helping experience.
The Lullaby of Life (8/10): the start of the universe becomes a puzzle game about music waves and colorful blobs. Available on PC.
shhh, spoilers
In the PC department, I have some cozy games on my plate that will see reviews in future days: the bullet heaven Cozy Space Survivors and the jigsaw puzzle Harmony’s Odyssey.
In the Playdate department, you can expect a review of Word Trip soon, but I’m also looking forward to write a list of small experiences on the yellow device as I collect more of those tiny gems.
I’m finalist on the Cardboard Edison Award 2024 with a card game prototype called Snowy Peaks that I co-designed with my friend Yuri Morroni. The results will be live in the next days, so wish me luck!

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games is coming soon and this is the best time to watch a 1-hour video about every olympic & paralympic mascot ever.
If you like classic Nintendo games and never watched a TerminalMontage animation, you need to fix this. The new one, Something About Zelda Ocarina of Time: The Water Temple, is also amazing.
Doctor Who is my favorite TV series and the renewed Season 1 is finally being live on the Disney+ (and the BBC in the UK) — they are releasing some recap videos on a webseries called New To Who that I recommend!
