Recommendations from FF HQ
Two great books to recommend from my reading list in June. First up was Mira Jacob's The Sleepwalker's Guide to Dancing. This family saga, set in two intertwining stories from the early 80s and late 90s, is sad, endearing, and often laugh-out-loud funny.
Matt Bell's ambitious SF epic Appleseed, which was shortlisted for the Ursula K. LeGuin Award, weaves together the story of a faun and his brother at the dawn of the 19th century, a group of rebels fighting back against a megacorporation after climate change has decimated the world, and a solitary survivor during a far-future ice age. What Bell's managed to accomplish with this one is nothing short of staggering.
