  • XL Omer counter: Extra large, very rainbow, and super special, this is my first foray into 8-ply tzitzit string! It’s been in the works for a long time- it started as my Omer-counting project for 5785, where I spun a little each day with the colors of the corresponding sefirot (ex. for chesed sheb’gevurah, I did purple flecks (chesed) in a base of blue (gevurah)). I also spun some black with flecks of all seven colors so I could make a balanced 8-ply string. Then I took the single threads from each week and plied them together, pairwise and then the four pairs at once.
To make the colors pop, I used the rainbow Omer counter string as the shamash to go with 8-ply white main strings. I feel like these would look really awesome tied onto a B’nei Or tallis! :^)

Since these are so special, I’m planning to do a fundraiser with them for a Palestinian aid org. More details to come on my instagram, but if you’re interested and not on insta, please let me know!

  • Walking pink: This is a set I spun on a drop spindle while doing errands, hanging out with friends, and generally being outside. It’s made of crinkly corriedale wool, in a sweet bubblegum pink hue. I feel like this one has good vibes from all its worldly experiences.

two bundles of handspun tzitzit string, pink Corriedale (left) and gray BFL (right).
  • Walnut Farm BFL: this set is a single-origin wool from Walnut Farm in Carlisle, PA, in a naturally heathered, light gray color. The Blue-Faced Leicester wool is a bit more sturdy and glossy than my usual Merino, and it feels nice and smooth in your hand.

a bundle of handspun white linen tzitzit string.
  • Linen: the linen turned out really nice! I persevered through the dampness and the dust, and it was worth it. Ohh, I’m so glad I can do linen now.

They’re up on my website here. If you want one, let me know!

On The Wheel

More linen! My first couple sets got snapped up IMMEDIATELY, but I’m working on restocking.

I’m also working on some more 8-ply white wool. It really feels so luxurious and nice to hold, and I’ve had a few people ask about extra-thick tzitzit before! I hope I can make it a more regular part of my stock.

Zines

I have a new zine about making your own tallit gadol! It’s a bit beefier than my tallit katan zine, including style info and FAQs as well as basic instructions. Check it out here: https://furywren.itch.io/diy-tallit-gadol

the cover page for my DIY Tallit Gadol Zine. the text reads "DIY Tallit Gadol", and "WOW!"
wow! check it out!

Collabs

I’m working with Robin of Greene Things Boutique on a sparkly multicolor set for a wedding tallis! Can’t wait to see it all come together.

Other Stuff

I’ve had a couple of small personal sewing projects this summer- a stuffed dragon for my sister’s baby and a couple little outfits for my own plushies. It’s fun to do some plush sewing again!
