Announcing our debut game, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
Hello, kind and patient subscriber!
Nick here from Furniture & Mattress, where "We make video games."
And guess what? We made a video game! Well, most of one.
Check it out:
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
What do you think?
We announced it in the Nintendo Direct this morning, which was a super exciting thing for us! And along with Switch, it'll be out on PC/Mac (via Steam and Epic Game Store), PlayStation5, and Netflix (iOS and Android). All this Summer! Whew!
We also have a fancy new website: https://arranger.quest

Making anything is hard, and it turns out that making an entire video game remotely during a pandemic is too. But we tried to make the best thing we could, something that really feels like it combines our various sensibilities into something new. While also paying ourselves a living wage so that we could do it sustainably, and giving each other grace for things like mental health days.
I have All Sorts of Feelings writing this on the evening before our announcement - after finally having locked in our trailer, our logo, our screenshots, our key art, our character art, our press kit, our website, our Nintendo video, our PlayStation Blog post, our rating, our social media presence, our press release, etc. etc. etc.

But I'm feeling pretty buoyant in writing this newsletter to y'all, our earliest supporters. Announcing things into the void is fun, if scary. And you never know what's going to come out of it. But YOU showed up long before we had anything to show, and told us that you were curious to hear more, whenever and whatever that may be. We're so grateful for that, and it's meant a lot having that kind of support as we work in secrecy for so long.
So yeah, we made most of a video game. And now we just need to finish it.
I've leave more info and details on the game below, but again: thanks so much for your support.
We'll be back with more soon. Oh, and feel free to shoot us a message at hello@arranger.quest, we'd love to hear from you.
Much love,
Nick and the whole Furnimat team

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
Find your way in a world of breezy, thoughtful puzzles, along a charming journey of self-discovery.
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure follows the story of Jemma, a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery. Venturing out beyond her stiflingly cozy confines, she finds an inspiring world - but also one ruled by fear, and a strange, immovable ‘static’ force. Can she disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit into it?
Gameplay takes place on a unique, interconnected ‘grid’ that spans the entire world, snappily uniting movement, exploration, and combat. When Jemma moves, the world moves with her - creating both a playful sense of chaos, and a regular stream of small, thoughtful puzzles that twist and play with the central mechanic.
Features:
- Unique, interconnected gameplay ‘grid’ that snappily unites movement, combat, and exploration.
- A story-driven adventure about a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery.
- A breezy RPG without XP or inventory to manage, where everything is handled in-world.
- 8-10 hour campaign, with various assist options so that you’re only as challenged as you want to be.
- Debut game from an all-star development team, featuring the artist behind Braid.
(Do I need to put a legal line in a newsletter? Sure why not.)
