🧱 Rubble

Russian strikes hit civilian targets from west to east yesterday. Rescuers in Kharkiv recovered three bodies from a residential building, while drone and missile strikes reached an educational facility in Rivne and a medical center in the Khmelnytskyi region. In Kyiv, the Air Force is investigating why sirens failed to sound until after ballistic missiles had already landed. Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander-in-chief, defended his decision to prioritize the Kursk offensive over the defense of Pokrovsk. General Syrskyi also noted that it is currently difficult to say whether the military is winning or losing. His assessment arrives as reports suggest the US and Europe are drafting a ceasefire agreement that would freeze the front lines and provide security guarantees. Domestic reforms continue to move at two speeds. President Zelenskyy signed education law amendments designed to remove Hungary's veto over EU accession talks, a move that saw all member states agree to open two new negotiation clusters. Meanwhile, a former advisor to the president’s office received a suspended sentence and a 200 million hryvnia fine for corruption involving the national railway.
