🏗️ Permits

An investigation into a million-euro business deal has uncovered that land permits were issued to the sister of Zoran Stevanovic, raising significant questions about the role played by Tea Kosir. The news comes as the Ministry of Health remains unable to clarify how a controversial prevention law was authored, while a populist move to defund various NGOs has left groups ranging from Catholic scouts to the Bible society in a state of financial precarity. The government's message of fiscal restraint is also being tested by its officials' travel habits. Borut Roncevic is under scrutiny for spending 26,000 euros on airfare for a trip to Japan, an expense that sits awkwardly alongside his recent lectures to teachers on the importance of saving money. The political landscape is further shifting as commentators suggest Deputy Prime Minister Anze Logar may be nearing the end of his political career. Evidence has recently emerged suggesting that an associate of Logar forged documents, leading to public debate regarding how much the high-ranking official knew about the situation.

siol.net: Tea Košir will no longer be State Secretary from Thursday

The government was informed at today's correspondence session about Tea Košir's resignation from the position of State Secretary at the Ministry of Health. Her term will end on October 15, i.e. on Thursday, according to the announcement after the government's correspondence session. This will automatically make Košir an MP, but she announced on Tuesday that she is leaving the parliamentary ranks. Nevertheless, the Democrats' parliamentary group will lose its leader Elena Zavadlav Ušaj, who sat in the parliamentary benches after Košir became State Secretary. After the National Assembly is informed of Košir's resignation as an MP, the procedure for appointing Elena Zavadlav Ušaj as an MP will begin. Tea Košir was appointed State Secretary at the Ministry of Health by government decision on June 10. Then, on September 28, she submitted her resignation statement on the termination of her duties as State Secretary. Based on her resignation statement, the Minister of Health proposed to the government that Tea Košir's function as State Secretary cease on Thursday. It is now also officially published on the National Assembly's website that the government was informed today of Košir's resignation. Tea Košir | Photo: National Assembly Photo: National Assembly. A big change in the Democrats' parliamentary group. Earlier this week, Košir announced her resignation from the Democrats party led by Anže Logar and her return to the parliamentary benches, where she would continue her political career as an unaffiliated MP. On Tuesday, however, she then announced that she would not return to the parliamentary benches, and has already informed the National Assembly of this. She wrote and signed her decision and submitted it to the National Assembly's filing office, even before her term as State Secretary expired and before she actually became an unaffiliated MP. With Košir's term as State Secretary ending on Thursday, she will automatically become an MP. This means that the Democrats party will lose the leader of its parliamentary group, Elena Zavadlav Ušaj, who became Tea Košir's substitute MP when she became State Secretary. After the National Assembly is informed of Košir's resignation as an MP, the procedure for appointing Elena Zavadlav Ušaj as an MP will begin again. It is not yet known when the National Assembly will be informed of Košir's resignation.
