3 Things I'm Loving Right Now

Sometimes I just like the easy button. I want to know exactly what someone likes the most right now; the best recipe they tried, a pair of jeans they love now just as much as when they first tried them on, a new routine that they found works for them, and because of that, might work for me, too. It could be anything, really. But when it is a recommendation from a friend, it is more credible to me than some list I found on Pinterest.

So, here is a list of three things that I imagine I would share with you if we were catching up over a cup of coffee.

1. Cinnabon Copycat Cinnamon Rolls

I first made these cinnamon rolls on New Year's Eve as a special treat for New Year's Day morning. I have toyed with trying a different recipe, but this one is decadent and delicious, so why should I mess with something that I’m still thinking about seven hours after breakfast? To stop me from making them every single Saturday because, “it's Saturday”, I only make these for holidays. These beauties were a valentine treat this month. (Now I’m just wondering if I can get away with "celebrating" National Dentist's Day this way too. P.S. It’s coming up on March 6.) Here’s the recipe.

My one tip to make this recipe easier for morning baking is to cover with Saran Wrap after Step 4 and pop them in the fridge overnight. The next morning I pull the pan out of the fridge while the oven is preheating, and then finish off the recipe as it’s written. Works like a charm.

2. The Perfect Necklace

I discovered this necklace when I was looking for something to add interest to my family picture outfit last fall. As it turns out, the necklace is incredibly versatile. It instantly adds a finishing touch to almost any outfit. I get compliments on it all the time, even with just my daily uniform of flats + jeans + t-shirt + long sweater. The length is perfect, the color is perfect, and it's very lightweight. It's an easy way to look pretty and put together on day 1,387 of staying at home.

3. My Morning Walk

I’ve learned to love taking a brisk, one-mile morning walk. The habit is new to me, but I think it’s one I’ll keep. The chilly morning air paired with a healthy pace clears my mind before math lessons need to be taught, school routines need to be started, and before the dozens of questions start continue. A walk in solitude sets the tone for my day, which usually means extra patience for kids and a (generally) better mood for me. I don’t want to skip my morning walk.

Something Else I'm Loving

Continuing the theme of things I'm loving: CortiStop.

CortiStop is my current favorite supplement. Here’s a little bit from Young Living about CortiStop:

“CortiStop is a proprietary dietary supplement designed to help the body maintain its natural balance and harmony. When under stress, the body produces cortisol. When cortisol is produced too frequently, it can have negative health consequences such as feelings of fatigue, difficulty maintaining healthy weight, and difficulty maintaining optimal health of cardiovascular systems. CortiStop supports the glandular systems of women.”

It's no surprise to me that my body is craving ways to reduce stress during this pandemic (my morning walk gives me a nice boost of energy and also lowers my cortisol levels. CortiStop is another way I'm keeping my cortisol levels in check, which in turn reduces my stress level.

I take 2 capsules in the morning before breakfast. I follow the recommendation on the label and use the supplement daily for eight weeks, followed by a break for about two to four weeks. Then I start the routine again.

Please note that this supplement is for adult use only. If you are pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician.

Snippets of My Week

A trip to the beach is always nice.
