Next hangout Wed. April 21 at 8 pm New York time
Dearest friends,
Imagine you are on a retreat with Rupert. You have had a morning session, such as a yoga meditation, Then lunch, together with old friends and some new friends, newly exploring. Maybe a rest after lunch, some time on your own. Then a question and answer session with Rupert, followed by dinner together. At the end of the day, before retiring, there are some couches on the landing. There are some people there. You sit down with them. What would arise for you?
This was the situation a group of us found ourselves in at a Mercy Center retreat five years ago. We deeply enjoyed the simple friendship, bonded by our shared understanding and love for Rupert’s teachings.
As the retreat finished we all rued the fact that when we returned home, there was little opportunity to re-create that beautiful environment, where we could simply connect, without having to explain to anyone our new, fresh view of the world that we all enjoy. For once we could be heard, be understood.
Thus, the online hangouts were born. An opportunity to create freshly again that special place. We meet as peers, curious and open to learn. All views are welcome. Respect, inclusion and love are the foundation of the hangout gatherings. There are no students or teachers, just awareness in our various forms enjoying itself. It turns out that this is a lot of fun.
We do have hosts, whose job it is to welcome people into the group, just like you would invite people into your home. And like any good host, they make sure people are included and heard. Like a good party, things flow without agenda except to enjoy and inquire and be with what happens.
Our next hangout will be tomorrow, Wednesday, April 7 at 8 p.m. EST, hosted by Kathryn. You are welcome to come along, to contribute and receive whatever comes up.
