The Return of Friday Blob Report
Hi everyone! Sorry I've not been updating this for a while; I've been struggling with mental and physical health stuff and also society feels like it's in active collapse. But making blobs has been kind of a lifeline while all that happens, so I figured I'd get back to showing those off.

This is my new technique I am learning! I have been making rods of glass with interesting color combinations inside, then cutting them up and blobbing them out to make things like these:

I also have been experimenting more with this kind of glass. If you've ever done hot glass work, what I am using would be called “soft glass” in your studio; it's got a lower melting point than the usual glasses I work with and is only available in rods. I've learned to do some really interesting stuff with it! Most of the rods I'm getting are a “pastel” variety, meaning they have some streakiness and mix of color in them, usually with white in the middle; that can create really cool effects that look very much like paint. I am really enjoying them.
Thanks for reading! I'm going to try to get back to doing these regularly.
