Saturday Blob Report and a Visit to the Glass Store

Hi, sorry I didn't do the newsletter yesterday! I got overwhelmed by how bad the world is and couldn't handle writing anything. But I have blobs to show you AND a special tour of the glass store, because I went up there today.

Before I get to it: there's a bunch of neat new stuff in the store! Lots of cufflinks and pendants and new pocket hearts.

Onto the kiln pictures!

all the pieces have rounded out nicely except one that blobbed two together

And the glass store visit! We made a day trip up to the Bullseye Resource Center in Santa Fe.

a flatbed metal cart with a plywood A-frame in the middle for leaning panes of glass on. one side has a bunch of packages of 10 inch glass squares, wrapped in paper, the other side contains piles of boxes
I put in my order ahead of time and they had most everything loaded up for me already. I like their special carts.
glass sheets on specially made wooden shelves
It's very hard to not buy everything.
shelving units crowded with jars of frit
I use a ton of frit. Mostly not these colors though.
jars of glass squares next to a glass bowl full of handy band-aids
Band-aids: a studio necessity.
a collection of ceramic slump molds, almost all of which have a finished slumped piece in them to show what the finished pieces made with the mold will look like
The slump mold collection.
above the glass shelves are a series of illuminated panels showing the glass below. these are streaky pinks and purples
The glass displays are really nice.
glass rods with an example of what a finished bead looks like
I don't actually know how to use these but they are beautiful objects.

Okay that's all! Thanks for reading 💜
