Day 131. For weeks I’ve written that paper is paper until the ships stop burning. This morning they’re still burning — and now the shooting is ours too. US strikes hit eighty-plus targets down the Iranian coast overnight; Tehran answered with missiles and drones against US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Trump, in Ankara, pronounced June’s memorandum ‘over’ and the whole thing ‘a waste of time.’ So the deal I never bought is gone, and I take no comfort in being right — the signature I doubted turns out to have been the only thing between here and this. The casualty claims are already outrunning the confirmations; I’ll wait for the count. Oil isn’t fooled: WTI near $75, Brent about $79, both up six percent. The receipts matter most on the ugly mornings. Pour one out.
