Gave up on trying to come up with clever names already. These are a lot of work on their own, the date is plenty (unless someone has a better idea).

I’ve been thinking about pricing a lot for this offering—combined with the little letter of nonsense that I think I’m going to kill the mailed version of and move it to a printable PDF instead to lower the overhead and cost for me (and for what I charge).

Right now the $5/mo or $40/yr model sounds right, but I’m hoping there is a way to offer $4/$30 at launch and then raise it without effecting the early subscribers. We will see…

‘True Detective’ Renewed for Season 5 With Issa López at the Helm

• This is great news (despite the creator going crazy over it…)

• The “time is a circle” line in season 4 was definitely a bit cheesy and felt forced, but overall, I thought they executed the best season since the first, although it didn’t eclipse it like I thought it might early on.

Joker 2 Cost $200 Million, Despite The Original Only Costing Around $60 Million

• I have a lot to say on this, I think there’s a full post in here somewhere about how Hollywood chooses to spend their money poorly and have stopped sheparding new talent.

• They could’ve made this for $100 million and had the same box office return and used that extra $100 million to produce five other films that they don’t need a return on in order to help grow new talent.

• But we are in such an “efficiency market” across Hollywood, sports, etc. and it’s going to come back and bite us in the ass.

New ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Comic in the Works – The Hollywood Reporter

• I still don’t really know what’s going on with the movie.

• It hit two film fesitvals back in September, but there is still no relase date.

• The trailer looked like tons of fun so I really hope we get to see it. Maybe this comic will coincide with the movie release. So that only feels like good news.

• This is coming from relatively unknown/unproven director and writers, but Sam Raimi is producing and it feels like it.

• Bill Skarsgard stars as a kid who can’t talk and they use H. Jon Benjamin as his inner monolgue voice, which is pure genius.

• If you watched the SyFy show Happy! you have a good idea what you are geting yousrself into. Combine that with One Piece, and I feel like you get the vibe here.

• I’m exicted.
