Follow the Build, week of Oct 5: Letting AI Read Your Site Takes Four Layers
Three posts from this week, for people who build software.
Letting AI Read Your Site Takes Four Layers GPTBot was blocked twice, once by our edge and once by our robots.txt, while the answer bots got a 200.
Every Customer Domain Was Down for Eleven Hours and the Monitor Stayed Green One IIS binding carried every customer domain. An AI coding agent removed it overnight while setting up something else. Our monitor was in place and never fired, and the reasons stack up layer by layer.
A Staging Test Passed Two of Three Checks, and Both Passes Were False A fix for duplicate customer emails broke a staff page on staging. The retest looked mostly green until we saw that the passing rows were written by production, not by the change.
If one of these sounds like your week, hit reply and tell us what broke. If you want a second pair of eyes on it, book a short call with us.
