Letters from Flora: Just saying hi!
Hello lovers!
It’s been a while, I had a major life event happen in March! I don’t want to be a bummer but I had to cancel all my trips to be there for someone in their final days. It was challenging and a huge honor. I won’t go into it in my newsletter, but maybe I’ll write about it someday. I am happy to talk about it, I don’t think we should shy away from these things, but I also want to respect what this newsletter is for!
Something fun…
In 2023, the year I turned 40, I did a little project on my twitter called “40 days of Flora”. It was a fun way for me to share my photography! When I deleted my twitter I was a little sad to delete that, but recently I decided to reprise the project to celebrate my upcoming 43rd bday on my Bluesky and Tumblr, August 8 btw!
Of course I am calling it: 43 days of Flora :) I’m currently 10 days in, and I have up to day 26 scheduled. It’s been so fun to go through my archives and find stuff that hasn’t been seen online in a while. I decided for the final 2 weeks I’ll be posting all brand new content that hasn’t been seen yet! I have a bad habit of taking photos and never processing them so this will be a good deadline for me.
If you are a sweetheart and enjoy my pictures you are welcome to send me a birthday gift! I have an amazon wishlist as well as a Marigold wishlist! I have tried to have a variety of options to fit with anyones budget <3
A little bit of news
I don’t have a lot of announcements for now, other than I will probably be in LA around the 2nd week of October so reply if you have thoughts on that :) I can be swayed on days at this point in planning.
The other thing I wanted to mention is that I will be raising my rates soon. I haven’t raised my rates in about 5 years, so it’s time for a cost of living adjustment! Majority of my business is return clients so if we have seen each other I invite you to stay at my current rates as a thank you. If you haven’t seen me yet you still have time! I’m not sure when I will make the change but likely mid August.
There will be some other rate changes, and new offerings, so stay tuned for that. My March derailed a lot of my little schemes and summer keeps me very busy in the garden.
