❤️‍🔥 Drastic changes & classes as usual

From Slovenia with good news ✨

Hey there,

It is quite the month, I must say.

I am writing this from Slovenia, where I am working on a project combining movie dialogues and improv. Honestly, it feels encouraging to have gotten an EU grant for doing unscripted theatre!

And more good things are happening. From complete restructuring, to summer workshops, and also our regular (yet inspiring!) weekly courses.

Read them all below…

Flock Theatre is revamping. ❤️‍🔥

We are changing things drastically around. And if you want, we invite you to step in.

After Summer, Flock is entering a new chapter with weekly shows, new staff roles, and a strong ensemble of Company Members at the heart of it all.

It is a pretty big change. And we are very excited. (And only a little nervous.)

For the new and improved Flock Theatre v2.0, we’re looking for:
🗂️ Board Members
🧠 Staff
🎭 Actors
🎶 Musicians
💡 Technicians

If you are close to Flock and you want to join in building the future of Flock, why don’t you read the masterplan?

Find all the info & application via this link (it’s very complete). The deadline is 28 April.

Shoot us a message if you have questions! ✨

Flock Festival - Workshops to check out

Pictures by Pim Rusch

We have our wonderful festival coming up. And I can’t help but think…

How come these workshops aren’t full yet?

  • Sun 29 June: Thoughtful improv with the head of the Vietnam Improv Festival? 💭
  • Sun 29 June: Singing with Katy Schutte? 🎶
  • Sat 28 June: A skill useful for comedy and horror? 🍌 😱
  • Thu 26 June: How to be funny with a hilarious comedian? 😂

We have a track record of selling out most workshops. So why don’t you book yourself a festival workshop now?

The courses starting in May

For experienced/advanced players

  • Schrödinger's World - Longform Improvisation - Learn a longform format from Jochem where you’ll explore associative scenes, transitions, focus, and being a great partner!
  • Police & Crime - Improv meets crime series! Explore murder investigations, ethical dilemmas, interviews, police drama scenes and more in this advanced course with David.

For beginners and beyond

  • Beyond the Basics - Have you taken a course or two in improv and want to cement what you learned? This is the next step, with David!
  • Improvisation for Beginners - In this beginners course with Laura, you'll learn the basic principles of improvisational theatre: spontaneity, a ‘yes and’ attitude, and inspiring your partner.

For all levels

  • Moving from Within - Improvisation and self-expression - Explore natural movement in this dance class for improvisers with Jason. Build confidence, express yourself, and discover your style — no experience needed!

See all courses together here.

Okay, back to my project here in Slovenia.

☀️

Talk soon,

Laura

P.S.

Remember the wild idea to stay up for a whole night and play 1 story with 24 improvisers? Well, the Improvathon All-Nighter was an absolutely wonderful night. And when I have caught up on sleep/memories/pictures, I will dust off the Flock blog to rave about it.
