At Flock, we are officially on summer break (* waves to you from the beach *), but we wanted to pop into your inbox to talk about… YOU.
If you are someone who is busy/ambitious/curious/…, then we got you. 🙋 See the FAQ below.
By the way... You can still sign up for one (or more) of the 13 new courses. Some have already sold out! We listed them at the bottom of this email ⤵️
Are you someone who is… Unsure to commit?
You can try our courses first. Sign up through our website, pay the course fee, and attend the first class. If you feel you and the course are not a match, contact us within 3 days after the first class for a full refund.

Are you someone who is… Ambitious?
Hell yeah, so are we. Flock is a great place to take courses if you want to actually improve. Yet, we don’t have levels. Because we don’t believe that growing is a linear process.
Improvisers get better by putting in the work, honest reflection, and listening to feedback. Do you have personal goals? Let your teacher know: we can help you get there.

Are you someone who is… Not a native speaker?
No worries, then you are part of the majority in the Flock courses! We have had Spanish people in our Dutch-speaking class, Estonian people in our French-speaking class, and pretty much every other nationality in our English-speaking classes.
You do not need to be hyper-fluent: improv is more than words. Most scenes improve by having less talking. Your imperfect language is a gift!

Are you someone who is… Thinking about money?
We have created a few options for paying the course fee to make it fit your situation:
You can pay in 1 time. With iDeal or a credit card.
You can pay in 2 times (for the 12-week courses) or in 4 times (for the 24-week courses).
You can pay in 10 times by becoming a member. You also get a bunch of extra fun things, like discounts!
How about Stadspas discount? Though we collaborate with Stadspas for discounts on show tickets, the city of Amsterdam won’t add more courses to their Stadspas offering 😢. We will keep trying!

Are you someone who is… A freelancer? Or an employee with a supportive boss?
Some students use the course fee as company costs, request VAT back (approx. € 45-50), or have their employer pay for it. If you need an invoice, mention it in the comments section with the official invoice address. You will then receive the invoice in September.

Are you someone who is… Older?
Wonderful! Anyone over the age of 16 years is welcome in our classes. We have been actively encouraging people over 55 to join our classes too (and it’s working). Improv is not bound to age, so you are not too old or too young.

Are you someone who is… Driving a car?
There’s plenty of parking space around Huis van de Wijk De Meeuw and Flock Studio, and it’s free after 19:00. Always check the latest updates on Amsterdam parking regulations here. Hilversum's parking regulations can be found here.

Are you someone who is… Busy?
Life happens! If you know you’ll miss 1, 2, or 3 classes, sign up anyway and let us know in the comments. We appreciate upfront communication. For unforeseen absences, inform us as soon as possible, and we’ll work it out.

Are you someone who is… Interested in accessibility?
Both Huis van de Wijk de Meeuw and De Geus are community centers with no thresholds, accessible bathrooms, and an elevator. If the 1 flight of stairs of the Flock Studio is an obstacle for you, please reach out.
We strive to make our classes as inclusive as possible, adapting content to fit everyone.

Are you someone who is… Curious about classmates?
Our improv courses attract the loveliest, kindest, and most enthusiastic people. Truly! We find it important to facilitate a space where you can be yourself (also on bad days), and get to know some great folks.
