OpenAI Launches Its New Family of Models With GPT-5.6

OpenAI unveiled GPT-5.6 in three sizes, Sol, Terra, and Luna, claiming it beats Anthropic's Fable 5 on agentic benchmarks while using less than half the output tokens and costing about a third less. Then its own audit called a major coding benchmark broken, and Simon Willison shrugged that it doesn't feel better in practice.
