Anthropic Ships Claude Opus 5 at Half the Price of Its Own Frontier Model
Opus 5 lands at the same price as Opus 4.8 and claims something close to Fable 5 intelligence at half the cost: more than double Opus 4.8 on Frontier-Bench, within half a percent of Fable 5 on CursorBench at half the cost per task, three times the next-best model on ARC-AGI 3. It also publishes the row it did not have to. Opus 5 scores 2.3 on automated behavioral audits, which Anthropic itself calls the lowest of recent models. |
