A New Amazon Data Center Is Set to Have the Most Polluting Power Plant in the U.S.
Amazon is investing in a natural-gas plant for a huge new Texas data center, and the Times reports it is on track to become the most polluting power source in the country. The company continues to say it will honor its climate commitments. Neither statement has been withdrawn. The pledge is simply being carried alongside a project that makes it arithmetically harder, on the assumption that something later closes the gap. |
