October Update
September is an exciting time of year. With families returning from vacations, and everyone getting back into their routine at work and school, the energy level seems to jump. This was especially true for us, this September.
Back to Sunday School
A new school year means a new Sunday School year too! We are thankful for students, and also for the teachers who disciple these children.
In Adult Sunday School, we wrapped up a study of the kings in the Old Testament. The names are confusing, but there are clear patterns of God's grace and justice in their lives.
For the next little while, the Adult Sunday School will be studying the Scottish Reformation.
Fall Bible Conference
We were blessed to have Dr. Craig Carter visiting September 7-10, bringing us God's word from the book of Isaiah. About 100 people gathered for the main part of the conference on Saturday the 9th, and we got the whole book of Isaiah in one go! It was exciting to learn so much, and many of us left hungry for even more. 
Nathaniel Vroom's Ordination
Nathaniel Vroom, with his wife Emma and their daughter Ada, was present at the fall meeting of our Presbytery, on September 17-18, in Sonora. The presbytery examined Nathaniel in theology, and unanimously approved him for ordination. 
The Vrooms are planning to arrive in Sunnyvale on or about October 27. Nathaniel is to be ordained at a special service at our church, on Friday, November 3, at 7:00pm. You are all invited! There will be a reception after the service in our fellowship hall.
