Beautiful Feet (Announcements for 28 August)
Hi Everyone,
Last Wednesday evening, Pastoral Intern Jonathan Bartlett had us consider Romans chapter 10, which reminds us that when we have believing hearts, we will confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. And we must pray for the proclamation of God’s word that others may believe: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Let us pray that God will give us ears to hear God’s word preached this Lord’s Day, and where needed, that His Spirit will soften hardened hearts.

The Lord’s Day
Sunday school is at 9:45 am. In adult Sunday school class we are looking at the history of the Presbyterian church in America.
The children’s Sunday school during the summer is surveying the book of Genesis.
The morning service is at 11:00 am. The sermon will be "Our Children’s God" from Genesis 17:1-14.
The evening service is at 5:00 pm. The sermon will be “Sound Wisdom" from Micah 6:9-16.
Through the Week
Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evening at 7:15 pm, at church and on Zoom.
Men's Bible Study on Thursday evening at 8:15 pm via Zoom. This week will be Chapter 3 of “Knowing Sin” by Mark Jones.
Ladies’ Summer Reading Plan: This week is Chapter 17 of “Faith. Hope. Love.” by Mark Jones.
Baptisms of Corin Groenewold and Lucas Thongkumthamachart
During the morning worship service, Corin Groenewold and Lucas Thongkumthamachart will be baptized. Please join us in the outdoor tent area after the morning worship service to celebrate these baptisms with the Groenewold and Thongkumthamachart families.
Wedding of Richard Lin and Becky Denny
Richard Lin and Becky Denny will marry on Saturday, 3 September. The ceremony will be held at our church at 11 am and officiated by Pastor Goligher. A lunch reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. The church family is invited to attend. Please RSVP by Sunday to Pastor Goligher if you plan to stay for lunch.
Women’s Bible Study Resumes
The women’s Bible study will resume on Thursday, 8 September 2022 at 7 pm via Zoom. We will use the book “The Lamb of God: Seeing Jesus in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy” by Nancy Guthrie. If you would like to join us and do not have a book, please contact Julie Lemen. We will resume our study on page 115 “The giving of the Law,” Exodus 19-24.
Library Books
If you have any books from the Church library that you are no longer using, please return them in the drop-off container. We encourage you to look for good books in the library. When you find one to take home, please remember to check it out in the logbook on the desk.

Women’s Retreat
This year’s women’s retreat will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Pleasanton with Dr. Jonathan Master, the President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, speaking on the topic of “Growing in Grace.” For more information and to register, please see the Women’s Retreat event page.
