Announcements for 21 August

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who were not able to be a part of VBS this year, there is a great video that Pastor Goligher made and put up on our church Youtube channel that will give you a sense of some of the activities:  VBS_video

Sincerely,
Elder Lemen

The Lord’s Day

Sunday school is at 9:45 am. In adult Sunday school class we are looking at the history of the Presbyterian church in America.

The children’s Sunday school during the summer is surveying the book of Genesis.

The morning service is at 11:00 am. The sermon will be "Lord Willing" from James 4:13-17.

The evening service is at 5:00 pm. The sermon will be “What God Requires" from Micah 6:1-8.

Through the Week

Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evening at 7:15pm, at church and on Zoom.

Men's Bible Study on Thursday evening at 8:15 pm via Zoom.  This week will be Chapter 2 of “Knowing Sin” by Mark Jones.

Ladies’ Summer Reading Plan:  This week is Chapter 16 of “Faith. Hope. Love.” by Mark Jones.

Fellowship Lunch

Our monthly fellowship lunch will be this Sunday after the morning worship service.  Please bring a main dish and a salad or a dessert to share.

Practice Hymn Singing

Join us at 3:30 pm on Sunday in the Fellowship Hall to practice singing the hymns and Psalms in our new Trinity Psalter Hymnal.

Library Books

If you have any books from the Church library that you are no longer using, please return them in the drop-off container. We encourage you to look for good books in the library. When you find one to take home, please remember to check it out in the logbook on the desk.

Looking Ahead

Baptisms of Corin Groenewold and Lucas Thongkumthamachart

Next Sunday, 28 August, during the morning worship service, Corin Groenewold and Lucas Thongkumthamachart will be baptized.

The ladies held a baby shower for Donna earlier in the summer, and a “baby sprinkle” is being organized for Tessa.  If you wish to contribute to a group gift for the Groenewold family “sprinkle,” please see Joy Loh.  She can accept gifts via Venmo, PayPal, or cash.

Please join us in the outdoor tent area next week after the morning worship service to celebrate these baptisms with the Groenewold and Thongkumthamachart families.

Women’s Retreat

This year’s women’s retreat will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Pleasanton with Dr. Jonathan Master, the President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, speaking on the topic of “Growing in Grace.” For more information and to register, please see the Women’s Retreat event page.  If you plan to spend Friday night at the hotel and would like to room with someone, please contact Julie Lemen for help making the arrangements.
