An Eternal Weight of Glory (announcements for November 28)
Thank offering
This Sunday, the thank offering is one way that we plan to express our thanks to God for his goodness to us. I neglected to mention this last week, but on this coming Sunday the offering we receive will be designated for the OPC's denominational ministries, known as "Worldwide Outreach." The ministries supported by Worldwide Outreach include Foreign Missions, Home Missions, and Christian Education. You can watch some videos about each of these ministries here.
If you are not able to contribute to this week's offering, you can still designate a gift until December 12.

Sunday school wrap-up
It has been a great year of Sunday school! To celebrate, we will enjoy a special Sunday school time on December 5, for both kids and adults. Pastor Goligher will read his favorite Bible story, and there will be a gift for each of the kids who've been part of Sunday school this year.
Holiday Cookie Exchange
Ladies, please join us for a Holiday Cookie exchange on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Joanne Goligher’s home. RSVP to Joanne by December 5th. For more information, look for the printed invitation or speak to Joanne, Julie, Melissa or Christy. Please consider inviting a friend to join us. Young ladies (4+ years) are welcome!
Bible reading
This week, our Bible reading plan (Adults' Version, Kids' Version) takes us to the final chapters of Job. These chapters contain an awe-inspiring encounter with God, whose majesty and glory in creating and governing the universe makes even the holiest human bow in humility. Job never got an explanation for his suffering, but he did turn from his suffering to bow in worship, which is where our hearts are truly satisfied. Paul has a lot to say about the connection between suffering and worship in 2 Corinthians. Our momentary sufferings are used by God to prepare an eternal weight of glory.
Kids, do you love feeling warm and safe snuggled up in bed at night? What if you knew that God was going to visit every home at midnight and put one son to death? That's how the kids must have felt in Exodus 11 & 12. The only way to feel safe was to have the blood on the door out front.
