Mandatory Release: Firo v0.14.15.3

If you haven't updated yet, now is the time. Firo v0.14.15.3 is a mandatory release - all users, node operators, and masternode operators should upgrade as soon as possible.

This update introduces Spark address message signing & verification and allowing private proof of ownership without an on-chain transaction. It also improves transaction rebroadcasting reliability and includes fixes to Tor, UI and various housekeeping changes.

Firo integrates with DFX: fiat on/off-ramps and in-store payments in Switzerland

DFX is integrating Firo, a Swiss non-custodial fiat-to-crypto platform, giving FIRO users direct access to fiat on-ramping, off-ramping, and real-world crypto payments - without routing through a centralized exchange.

DFX AG is a Zug-based open-source platform. Users can buy, sell, and swap FIRO directly from their own wallets via SEPA, SEPA Instant, and SWIFT bank transfers. DFX also powers crypto payments at physical retail locations in Switzerland, including 137 SPAR supermarkets. Stack Wallet is expected to be the first wallet to integrate DFX's on/off-ramping directly, giving FIRO users a seamless in-wallet experience for buying, selling, and spending FIRO with fiat.

Rosen Bridge: Firo's censorship-resistant DeFi bridge is coming

Reuben Yap published an in-depth piece laying out the strategic case for Rosen Bridge - and why decentralized cross-chain infrastructure is now essential for privacy coins.

Once the integration is live, FIRO holders will be able to bridge to Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Cardano, accessing deep DEX liquidity on Uniswap, PancakeSwap, and more without relying on centralized exchange listings. Integrations to Base and other prominent EVMs are also in the works. Development is actively underway.

Mining Firo - you may want to look at the new mining software and mining pool available

TeamBlackMiner has released a new miner on github that supports $FIRO's FiroPoW and works for both AMD/Nvidia cards. Now that you can mine Firo with 8GB cards again this new software may be worth looking into.
Also the Rplant mining pool has added a $FIRO pool to it's assets.

Pooly.ca - a community mining pool with roots going back to 2017 has added Firo as one of the coins you can mine on their Pool. They recently launched a completely new UI, features and PoolyNodes - a masternode hosting service. The team genuinely understands mining from the inside out and has always prioritized accessibility for newer miners.

Miners who stay connected to the PPLNS pool for 30 consecutive days will see their pool fee reduced to 0%.

Firo is now accepted on AnonBazaar

Firo joins Monero as a supported payment option on AnonBazaar.com, a privacy-first peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling goods and services with full support of Spark addresses!

AnonBazaar is run by the team behind xmrbazaar.com, one of the most prominent clearnet marketplaces for Monero and works like a Craigslist-style marketplace for privacy coins.

To celebrate the listing, we ran an 8-week lucky draw open to sellers who listed their items for sale and accepted FIRO as payment. Each week, two qualifying listings were randomly selected and each received $50 USD worth of FIRO. The draw has now concluded - thank you to all the sellers who participated! Community member @vsnation_ on X has launched buyfiro.app - a fast, non-custodial way to buy FIRO directly from any EVM chain. Swaps typically complete in just 5–10 seconds, and fees have recently been reduced to 2%, with fees going toward bolstering liquidity.

Transparent addresses are supported now, with Spark address support planned for a future update.
