#6 August 2024
Hello all!
Our Kickstarter just wrapped and it went phenomenally, thank you all so much!
We crushed our initial goal within 48 hours and ended the campaign at 326% funded, meaning that KS orders of The Vow paperback will now also arrive with six miniprints, five stickers, and a bookplate included at no extra charge. I can't convey how incredible it has been to let this project see the light of day after years of work + have it received so warmly... Thank you for believing in weird gay sex art.
Below is a block of text I'm copying from our KS update, for consistency of information:
As noted during the campaign, we won't be charging shipping for The Vow until we've got books in hand and can provide 100% accurate cost estimates for delivery. At that time, a BackerKit survey will be rolled out to collect shipping information. (Almost all pledges have gone through successfully, but there's a few errors that hopefully will be sorted within a week -- please check your email!)
The wholesale tier will remain available for shops who would like to retail The Vow up until we place the final print order. (If you know a shop that stocks queer erotica and you'd like to see The Vow on their shelf, please don't hesitate to let us know! We're happy to handle communications and pitching to any store that's friendly to nasty gay comics.) The digital tier will remain open until the PDF of the comic is complete and we're able to host it on another storefront!
Leftovers will not go up for sale until after campaign fulfillment has wrapped + we can confirm everyone's received their package as expected.
Now that the Kickstarter's wrapped I am going to be retreating to a cave for a while, both to handle real life and to finish this book. A lot of stuff went on behind the scenes this month (such as my cat landing herself a midnight trip to the emergency vet) and the game plan for now is just getting back to work in peace.
As always, thanks for reading.
Watching: Star Trek TOS! Our friends showed us The Motion Picture and Wrath of Khan recently and of course they ruled. Arden and I had, until now, never seen an episode of Trek but my god the yaoi in that goes crazy. I'm beginning to understand why Spirk reshaped the face of pop culture forever.
Misc: I've been getting really into working out and catching up on historical podcasts first thing in the morning...very aware this is introducing near-critical levels of dad energy into my lifestyle but of course I do feel much better getting regular exercise. (Current pod rotation: Behind the Bastards, The Shrieking Shack, Not A Podcast, Girls Guts & Giallo.)
