#11 March 2025
Hello! It's been quietly busy here for a bit — between Kickstarter fulfillment and day job work the weeks end up flying by. Lots to report on though!
I'm part of an Itch bundle celebrating games, comics, and zines made for different fandoms. It's the Now That's What I Call Fanart! collection (organized by the lovely DCS) and my Silent Hill 3 artbook Eris Quod Sum features in it! This is a really cool bundle, packed with submissions from 25 different artists and offering $130+ of art for all of $15. Normally, EQS alone is $10 so suffice to say this is a good deal for a lot of excellent work.
There's some local events coming up for us as well :D
- We'll be tabling at the 2025 Free Comic Book Day event hosted by Paper Asylum in Beverly, MA on May 3rd. Paper Asylum is our favorite local comic shop and one of the only stores where you can get your hands on The Vow, so of course we love getting to work at an event of theirs. We'll have copies of The Vow, Vow prints and stickers, and other various merch available for sale. The event itself will be running from 10 AM to 7 PM, but Arden and I will be leaving a couple hours early for the next bullet point on our list...
- ...being invited to showcase an excerpt from The Vow in the Love Is For All Of Us comics show! This event with the Boston Comics Roundtable is centered on the work of LGBTQ comic artists, and will be running from May 3rd to the 17th at the Joy Cochran Gallery in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is my first time having work in a show, so it's pretty exciting! We're honored to attend the reception on the 3rd from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. There will be a limited quantity of Vow books available for purchase during the reception as well.
- You can also find us running a table at the 2nd annual CODCon in Hyannis, MA on May 4! We'll have the same table offerings as the Paper Asylum event (while supplies last...!) This convention is held at the Hyannis Public Library and the Cordial Eye Gallery across the street from 10 AM to 4 PM.
And yes, these are all happening the same weekend LOL busy times! fyi if you are interested in bartering dunkin coffee for merch... an arrangement can be made ;0
Finally, regarding Kickstarter progress for The Vow: it's going well! The books have been shipping out at a steady pace, and we're just about to tip over to 80% fulfillment for the entire campaign. Our friend in Montreal has also received the necessary supplies to send all Canadian orders on their merry way.
We're on track to have all pledges who have answered their surveys fulfilled by the end of the month, after which we can start offering copies of The Vow (as well as overstock of the stretch goal stickers and prints) for sale online. There will be a big stack of them available as well as some B-grades. These B-grade books received minor scuffing or other light cosmetic damage to the outer cover during shipping, and as such we'll be selling them at a discount.
Regarding the surveys, there are nine remaining backers with incomplete surveys. Several have submitted addresses, but have not yet paid for shipping — we cannot mail your order until this is taken care of! If you haven't yet finalized your backer survey, please be sure to do that so we can send you your book 🙏
Until next time, thank you for reading.
Watching: Highlights of the last month are The Pitt, Squid Game S1, and Mad Men, all of which I adored and would rec in a heartbeat. Currently, I'm back to chipping away at Downton Abbey... nothing hits like a good manners drama.
Misc: Been dabbling in a few games, but I have finally, in the year 2025, started Tears of the Kingdom. Pretty fun! Anyone else heard of this one?
