#feministfriday episode 513 | Friends

Good afternoon everyone,

I have had a day of feeling love for my friends, so here's a FriendsFemFri.

Firstly a good, detailed overview of the latest friends research:

“When we view behaviors that create intimacy—being vulnerable, buying gifts, taking someone out on a date—as only appropriate for a romantic relationship, we end up limiting the potential of our friendships,” said psychologist Marisa G. Franco, PhD [...] and author of Platonic, a book about making and keeping friends. “Many of us could really benefit from blurring the lines between the two.”

I've been into the Abstract Expressionists ever since that excellent exo at the RA six years ago. Helen Frankenthaler and Grace Hartigan were great friends, and I love this photo of them and Joan Mitchell very obviously having a nice time and not caring too much about the photographer:

Have a great weekend and by sure to tell your friends that you love them,

Alex.
