#feministfriday episode 511 | big Deal
Good afternoon,
I went to see The Breeders this week, and they were so good. Here's a Fem Fri about the Breeders Extended Universe.
Let's start with Cannonball, it's the obvious choice because it rules:
One of my favourite things about the show was Josephine Wiggs' between-songs chat, including advertorial for the zine she had made called (wait for it (I loved this so much)) Breeders' Digest. Here's an interview with her about her solo ambient album:
“People are like, ‘Why do you always have to make everything so complicated?'” she says. “‘Why does it take so long?’ Because I can’t do it any other way. It’s interesting to realize I can’t do anything that’s just quick and easy.”
Here's We Fall, if you want some sombre ambient music (don't worry, I'm going to bring the mood back up before the end of the newsletter):
This is maybe not the most obvious Belly song to choose, but it is my favourite, here's Slow Dog to bring the mood back up:
Love,
Alex.
