Spring Cleaning
Hello hello! It's another exciting week and another exciting Wednesday!
Part of the reason for moving to this new platform is to make it easier for people to subscribe. Feel free to forward this to a Kairos member (or a Kairos member-to-be!) to make sure they're in the know!
🎨 Also, I'm hoping the format of the emails works better and makes it more palatable when reading.
We have five items this week! (391 words; ~1.5 minute read time)
1. 💺 TAKE THE PARTY BUS!
Summer conference is coming on June 28-30! While I wouldn't encourage you to come just to ride the bus, we definitely have the option available to you! Arrive at the summer conference energized and ready for what God has for you!
The early bird rate of $250 per person expires after June 2! The day is closer than you think so register today!
2. 🔥 KAIROS PRAYER TIME
This coming Sunday is our Kairos prayer meeting! Come add your fuel to the fire of prayer as we intercede on behalf of those in need! We meet at 10:00am in D106!
3. 🐠 FECC VBS HELP
Please come join the crew as we serve the children in our community through Vacation Bible School! We will have ours on July 22-26. This is a fantastic opportunity to help children know and experience God's love! Volunteer here!
4. ❤️ KAIROS FELLOWSHIP
- Phileo - Next meeting will be on June 6. Potluck!!
- Ohana - Next meeting is on Friday, May 31.
- College - Contact Rachel or Kevin for this week's program!
5. MAKING ROOM
I've been spending quite a bit of time in my head this past couple weeks. Between thinking about our Duckwater VBS, the summer conference, Kairos, the graduating high school seniors, our church, and my own spiritual growth, I've been feeling heavy. What adds to the weight is all the extra curricular media intake whether that's news, sports, or random Star Wars memes. Things get cluttered in the mind and I find it hard to discern God's movements around me.
So taking a cue from a book I'm reading, I am decluttering a bit by restricting my sports news intake for the next seven days. That means not reading all of the sports newsletters I receive and not going over to espn to read about everything in the sports world. After a couple days into this, I have already felt more room for my heart to move and connect with God. Who knew that following my flailing Angels was causing so much angst! 🤦🏻♂️
I'll report back next week to let you know how things go. In the meantime, maybe there's some spiritual decluttering you can do as well!
