⛰️ Headed to Duckwater!
Hi everyone!
Sorry I've missed the last couple weeks! Was in Maui last week for our Tan family vacation. It was a much needed time of rest and relaxation!
💔 This past week has been one filled with turmoil and stress in our area. Praying for God to lead the way and soften hearts during this strife filled period.
We have four items this week! (33 words; ~1.5 minute read time)
1. 🙏 DUCKWATER VBS
This week, our Duckwater VBS team will be headed out to serve the Shoshone tribe! We will be hosting a weeklong VBS program as well as a couple community outreaches surrounding food!
Please remember to pray for the team as they head out starting Saturday morning. Here are some prayer requests:
- 🤝 Pray for team unity and cohesion. We have eight people from our East Lansing campus and eleven people from our Cerritos campus joining the team this year. With a wide range of ages and backgrounds, pray that we would work together as the body of Christ.
- 👶🏼 Pray for the children and families we will be serving that they would experience Christ through our activities. Also pray for opportunities to show God's love in tangible ways.
- 🕊️ Pray for peace in Duckwater as they struggle through conflicts and local politics. This has brought division within the community.
- 🌱 Pray that team members would grow in their faith as they serve on this trip.
2. ☀️ SUMMER BREAK
Our fellowship groups and Sunday school are on break for the summer! Stay safe with all your summer travels!
3. ⛪️ FYI
Starting on June 17, Pastor Eddie will be on sabbatical for a little over seven weeks. During his sabbatical, the English congregation will be joining us for worship at 11:30am. This will be a good opportunity for us to connect with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ!
4. 🐓 SAVORING
How's the savoring going this week for you? Have you gone for your phone-less walk yet? Or enjoyed coffee sans electronic devices? It may be hard, but it's a practice worth growing as it trains us for our worship!
Oh, here's the picture of my chickens that I referenced during the message. They're so unnecessary but so amusing to me. 😂
