πŸ—³οΈ Election Season

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

School is in full swing here at the Tan household and we're slowly getting into a regular daily rhythm. Those summer time routines (like going to bed late) are kinda hard to shake. If you see me dozing, it's because of one too many sleep late at nights and wake up early mornings. πŸ₯±

We have four items this week! (285 words; ~1 minute read time)

1. πŸ™ PRAY FOR US!

Next Tuesday through Thursday, us pastoral staff members will be at Prince of Peace Abbey for our annual planning retreat. We will spend the time evaluating this past year and planning for 2025 and beyond. If you could lift up a prayer for the process it would be greatly appreciated!

πŸ›¬ Pastor Jessie and Pastor Abraham, our pastors from the Michigan campuses will be joining so pray we would have a meaningful time of fellowship and connection with everyone.

2. 🍩 SNACK TIME!

Many of us have enjoyed and benefited from the Sunday morning snack time at church! If you are available to help prepare and serve the snacks or if you would like to show off your snack-making skills, please let me know! Our deacons are forming a committee to coordinate this snack hour.

3. πŸ“š BOOK OF THE WEEK

book

Pastor Jeff and I will be kicking off a new series on Christians and politics. Woohoo! We're looking forward to diving into this often contentious topic and hoping to provide some insight on how we can respond as followers of Jesus.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ We will be using Eugene Cho's book, Thou Shalt Not Be a Jerk as a resource in our messages. Our Christian witness is much more important than our association with any particular political party or ideology and Cho's book lays out some practical guidelines.

4. 🧊 BEST ICE BREAKER GAME EVER

We need to do this at our next summer retreat or Kairos retreat or youth retreat or junior high VBS. @PastorJeff please make this happen! πŸ˜†

Keep pressing on!
