🫵 A Group for You
Happy Friyay, everyone!
We got back late from our Pastor's Planning Retreat last night so I apologize for the lateness this week! We had a very full time with tons of conversation and discussion. Praying that God would continue to guide us in 2025 and beyond.
👋 Welcome to our new subscribers! Happy to have you join in on the fun here!
We have four items this week! (443 words; ~2 minute read time)
1. ❤️ FELLOWSHIPS STARTING!
Our groups are restarting so please come and reconnect with your fellow brothers and sisters! Being together for mutual encouragement and prayer is really helpful for our spiritual lives!
Here's the schedule for our kick-off meetings!
- 🖼️ Poiema (youth) fellowship - today at 7:30pm at church
- 🌺 Ohana fellowship - today at 6:30pm at church
- 🍔 Phileo fellowship - Thursday, September 12 at 7:30pm at the Tan Residence
- 👩🏻🎓 College fellowship - Friday, September 13 at church
2. 🅰️ ALPHA COURSE!
Our English speaking groups will be hosting a special small group called Alpha where participants can ask and discuss questions concerning the Christian faith. This is a great opportunity to have conversations about the core of the Christian faith.
Topics include:
- Faith: How can I have it?
- Bible: Why and how do I read the Bible?
- Evil: How can I resist it?
- Jesus: Who is He?
Gatherings will be biweekly starting on September 28.
❗️ We will go through the first session of Alpha at the Phileo fellowship on September 19 if you would like to get a taste of how the group will go.
Please contact me or Jane Fan if you are interested in participating!
3. 🥞 SNAX PLEZ!
Would love to have your snax skillzz bless our FECC community! If you can participate, please let me know!
4. 📚 BOOK OF THE WEEK
Our church has gone through quite a bit of conflict and stress over the last couple years. These have revealed areas in our church life where we can grow, develop, and heal. I've been reading Pivot after reading the co-authors' first book A Church Called Tov on church toxicity. Pivot outlines how a church culture can be transformed into one of goodness. I found this book to be instructive in how to help bring about a healthier church culture.
🧎🏻♀️ Please continue to lift up our church in prayer!
4. 💭 QUOTE I'M THINKING ABOUT
“Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of. An apparently trivial indulgence in lust or anger today is the loss of a ridge or railway line or bridgehead from which the enemy may launch an attack otherwise impossible.”
— C.S. Lewis
See you this weekend!
