[Famicom Party] Updates to recommended software
Hello!
As promised, I have updated Famicom Party's recommended software used throughout the book. (I somehow accomplished this on time, for once!) I am now recommending NEXXT for graphics work, and Mesen2 for emulation/debugging. Full details on how to get both tools set up are included in the updated Chapter 3, "Getting Started". I have updated descriptions and images throughout the chapters that follow, as well, so everything should be in sync.
Since the book no longer uses NES Lightbox, and since I have received an increasing number of reports of issues with the software, I am removing it from the website. I still have plans to create a modern NES Screen Tool alternative, but the existing Electron-based NES Lightbox will not be it. NEXXT is a more than capable replacement; its only downside is it being a 32-bit Windows application. I will keep you posted when I have something to announce, but as with most things in this project, I expect that will be a long ways off.
