Hello!
First, as you have no doubt been hearing from every company/brand you have ever interacted with, I hope that you are healthy and doing well in these interesting times. I'm working from home for the foreseeable future, which means that I have had more time than usual to dedicate to Famicom Party.
As a result, I have finished updating Chapter 3 and Chapter 10 to use NESTool in place of NES Screen Tool. NESTool still has its quirks, which I am working on when I get the chance, but on the whole it is a great cross-platform replacement.
Chapter 3 also now recommends FamiStudio in place of FamiTracker. It's a fairly new project, but it has a much simpler interface than FamiTracker and exports directly to the format used by the FamiTone2 sound library. FamiStudio works across Windows and Mac; a Linux version is underway, but in the meantime I recommend that Linux users compose audio with FamiTracker under WINE instead.
With this foundational work out of the way, I am now working on the background graphics chapter. I hope to have more information about that soon.
Thanks for reading. Until next time...
