Through October ~ ExGld
Greetings Explorers!
I’m still working on the Captain’s Report for Adventure Camp, but the good news is that the Explorers Council set a number of dates for events through October! Start marking your calendars now!
Coming Soon
10 Year Anniversary - July 27th
After our postponement from March, it’s finally time to celebrate our 10 year anniversary!! There are so many stories, people, and events to look back on but doing so is always so much better with fellow explorers!
More details are coming soon, but this event will be around San Francisco’s Balboa Park from 12 - 7pm. We want to celebrate with you, so start making plans now!
Curio: Cable Car to the Beach - August 2nd
Curios are less formal Explorers Guild events, often with less structured time or narrative and more of a focus on community and getting to know one another. Captain Belle Cunningham is excited about offering a Cable Car Ride to the Beach, which is such a novel experience in a city!
Transit Nerd’s Day Out - August 9th
Name is still pending, but the intention is clear. Captain Lark is excited to share the many wonders of our San Francisco Transit system with Explorers. If you like our transit system (or are curiously interested in our transit system but don’t want to commit to like liking it before trying various other modes of transportation) you’ll want to make sure to be there.
Trolls: Save the Humans - September 14th
Dr. Professor has been studying Troll behavior for years and has located a traveling contingent of them right here in the Bay Area. Join him as we explore Thomas Dambo’s Trolls: Save the Humans at the Filoli Gardens in Woodside.
Steeplechase - October 18th
Whimsy levels need recharging which means it’s time to ride the carousels. The classic Explorers Guild event is coming back, and this time we’ll be celebrating for the first time in the Fall!
Curio: Driveway Follies - October 30th
Here’s another curio for those seeking magic. One of Dr. Professor’s absolute favorite reminders of cBay Area magic is in the form of Driveway Follies, a marionette show performed out of an Oakland resident’s garage.
Calendar Reminder
You can always subscribe or link to our event calendar using the link at the bottom of our dispatches, but if you’re the type of person who wants a fresh reminder with a link in the full body of a dispatch, here it is!
There you go, the next 4 months of fun, whimsy, and frivolity to plan around. We hope to see you at many of them and especially the 10 Year Anniversary Event on July 27th.
Semper Explorandum Explorers!
