The Visitors & Steeplechase Date Change ~ ExGld
Hello Explorers and happy Bay Area Transit Day!
Just a couple of quick updates for you all on upcoming events.
First of all, the date for Steeplechase is changing. It was originally Saturday, October 18th but there’s a large, nationwide, No Kings protest that day and San Francisco is a prominent city of action. Steeplechase will now be Sunday, October 19th - starting at 10am. More details on this event will be coming next week. But do change your calendars, and thank you Seg for the heads up on the protest.
The Visitors - Sunday, September 28th

Last week I mentioned that there’s a cohort of Explorers planning to go to the last showing of The Visitors at SFMoMA. As a reminder, The Visitors is a video/music installation experience that’s been running for years at the SFMoMA, and for many it’s been extremely meaningful.
Heather is leading this curio and writes:
I am going to see that last show of The Visitors before it closes at SFMOMA! Come join me for this bittersweet celebration of the piece. If you haven’t seen The Visitors yet, I recommend going at any OTHER time. The last show will not be the best first experience. I have made a visual scavenger hunt of things that happen. Keep track of the things you see, and we can compare notes after! (ask me for the scavenger hunt if you are going before the group trip) We should arrive around 2 to be sure to get into the last show. Will there be a line? Maybe? If not, we can see another exhibit first or hang out at the cafe. My plan is to be in the room for the last two shows (which will be two hours entering at 2:30) to really let it sink in. In the first show, we have a quiet, solo, contemplative experience; in the last, we have a group cathartic experience.
I’ll be posting more information on this on our Slack.
We also have a big expedition in the early planning stages for 2026. I look forward to sharing more of that with you soon.
Semper Explorandum Explorers!
