Solstice Activities this Saturday ~ ExGld
Hello Explorers!
Here’s a friendly reminder that if you’re looking for a bit of fun this weekend there’s plenty to go around!
Night Parade - Saturday
First off, our friends at Raining Chainsaws celebrate the winter solstice every year by meeting in Precita Park and parading through the Mission District of San Francisco. We dance to Mission Delirium and light up the night with our lanterns and bright spirits.

Make your Own Lantern Curio - Saturday
But what if you want to dance the dark night away and draw back the sun with all those cool people in Raining Chainsaws, but don't have anything that lights up?!?
Never fear! The Explorer's Guild will be hosting a short crafternoon directly before the parade to make your own paper lantern.
We'll meet at Belle and Lark's place (around the corner from the parade start) to craft and socialize beginning at 3:30pm. We will provide a pot of vegan chili and craft supplies. We'll work together to create some light up masterpieces, and then walk to the parade start together to join in all the fun. Join the slack channel (#lantern-curio-2025) or email Lark to RSVP and get the exact address for this event.

More Magick - Saturday
It’s rumored that the Night Parade also aligns with the return of another amazing magick infused San Francisco event. Unfortunately, details of this can only be shared in person. Fortunately for you though the Night Parade might offer some insight on how to join. You’ll just want to plan to wear all red or white.
If you’re someone who needs more certainty though, it’s suggested that you reach out to the various makers/organizers of whimsy and joy in your life to see if they know more.
That’s all for now. Remember to light the way on the longest night of the year!
