Rain can't keep us away ~ ExGld
Hello Explorers!
In this dispatch we’re keeping our streak of updates for Adventure Camp coming. Last weekend we did another site visit (this time in the rain) and the crew just keeps finding so many reasons to fall in love with the location; we can’t wait to share it with you.

Registration and Tickets
Last week we outlined the process for Adventure Camp registration with step one being to find a team of 5.
Feedback has been trickling in such as: “I don’t know if I know four other people,” and “we only know other couples!” Hey, it’s 2025, this isn’t a problem! The team structure is intended to be fun, but you aren’t required to be best friends with everyone at the get go (reminder that teams are given two cabins). There are three methods for completing your team of 5.
The first is to let us know who you have so far. Complete the team registration form with the partial team of 1-4 Explorers you currently have. Did you know we currently have 3 teams with four people, each of them looking for just one more to join them? This means if you’re someone who wants to go, but none of your friends appreciate the kind of fun and adventures you’re into, there are options for you to join up with a team. As potential matches make themselves known we’ll reach out to y’all in hopes of making that match happen. Heck, if there’s enough of you a team of rogues is also possible.
The second is to go on our slack channel: #adventure-camp-matchmaking and let everyone there know who y’all are, and what you’re looking for (big shout to Earnest and Kris who have done exactly this!). Don’t let your uncertainty about meeting relative strangers hold you back, you see someone who might be able to join up with you, reach out to say hi or start a thread.
Lastly, you can strike out on your own; keep asking your friends, family, and co-workers. Behind the scenes we’re making magic and we’re really excited about sharing it with everyone, even if they’ve never been to an event like this before. There are so many people who came to their first events via Caravan Rally and had a transformational experience, this can be theirs.
Behind the Scenes Opportunities
We’re really excited about putting on an experience for our participants, and we know we can’t be the only ones. There are behind the scenes opportunities for people interested in that side of the event too.
Auditions for performance roles are coming up this weekend. Performing participants will receive room and board for the weekend and bring to life the denizens of the Redwood Realm. If you’re interested, book a time before all slots are completely full.
Play testing is also continuing with our next one on March 29th, from 2 - 4:30pm at Precita Park. You can sign up for updates on the Partiful link, or just arrive ready to test out various game mechanics.
If performance and play testing aren’t your speed, we’re also hosting a number of workshop days to help create the magical world. Where in the past few weeks we’ve been planning, we’re now coming up to more crafting days. Best way to know what is planned for a particular build day is to check our slack channel: #adventure-camp-2025 (this is a private channel with mild spoilers, just message Dr Professor to let you in it).

GDC Carousel
Don’t forget, on March 20th (this Thursday!) Seg, is hosting free carousel rides at the LeRoy King Carousel. If you like carousels as much as I do, plan on swinging by. 10:00am - 6pm
No cost. No catch. Everyone can ride!

Updates on our Adventure Camp progress will keep on coming, though if you’re someone that’s excited to go don’t wait too long. We’re finding that with only 12 team spots available, it’s possible for the event to suddenly fill up.
Semper Explorandum Explorers!
