Fairyland, this Saturday!
This Saturday we’re hosting our first event specifically for all our little explorers: a trip to Children’s Fairyland. With so many new families over the last 5 years this is a chance to share the Explorers Guild at an event explicitly for those families and the friends who are close to them. Read below for some more details and I hope to see many of you this weekend.
Fairyland - Saturday, September 14
A timeless local treasure is tucked along the shores of Lake Merritt. Its candy-colored sign has been beckoning families for generations, inviting all kids and their grownups to frolic, imagine, wander, and, yes, explore in a land where fairy tales have come to life. Now that the Explorers Guild has several established families, we are going to the one, the only, Children’s Fairyland! Our goals are to get lost in the wonder of this delightful pint-sized amusement park, and to marvel at the natural exploratory instincts of our littlest Guild members.
We’ll meet at the entrance to Children’s Fairlyland on Saturday, September 14 at 1pm.
In order to explore this special place to the fullest you will need: a jaunty hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, a child, and whatever pile of necessities are required to keep your child alive and comfortable for the afternoon.

Because Fairyland requires that all adults enter with a child, and because of the sensitive nature of bringing adults into a child-oriented space, attendance for this event will be limited to Explorers with children and their guests. If you are an Explorer with children and you would like to attend, please join the #0914-fairyland Slack channel. Optionally, you can invite up to two fellow Explorers to join you even if they do not have children, as long as you are willing to coordinate exploring the park with them and you feel confident & comfortable engaging with them among children. If you have questions please reach out to @belle_cunningham on the Explorers Guild Slack. If you would like more information about Fairyland, or you would like to purchase your tickets in advance, check out their website here.
Solano Human Project
For those that have heard about the Solano Human Project, there is one last chance to experience before it closes up. October will will be the last time you can experience this. If you’ve been waiting, now is the time. It’s a joyful jaunt, and highly suggested for anyone in the Explorers Guild. Time slots are available at: https://solanohumanproject.org/
