Come out to the Woods... ~ ExGld
Greetings Explorers!
Over the weekend we realized that there may be a few of you out there that want to attend the Aftel Archive exploration (it’s this Saturday) but perhaps your submission didn’t go through. If you do plan on going, make sure you receive a confirmation message, we’ve been hearing that there are a couple of people who thought they registered but they didn’t click the submit button. With that said, we have only one spot open. If you want to attend, now is the time to register!
Come out to the woods with us…

As we’ve been noting over the last couple of months, we’re getting ready for a huge project. It’s been fun to work with old friends as well as new artists and designers; and what’s coming out of this is truly amazing. At one of our last meetings, we also were identifying that there are a few spots available for people who might want to come out with us and help put it on.
This onsite coordinator is an incredible role (and my personal favorite) as we work to create joy and magic as a behind the scenes team. We have a number of fun opportunities like game masters, role players, set-up/take down helpers, onsite participant logistics, and food prep.
What we ask is for our onsite design team to be able to come out on Thursday, May 29th for set up and help us through June 1st (though ideally through June 2nd). We’ll be able to provide the team meals, cabin space, and lots of great stories.
If you think this might be you, let me know by replying to this message.
I want to also thank those of you who reached out about our needs for 3D modeling. We have some other specific builder needs we’re looking for too.
Namely:
Graphic Designer who can help us put together a fantasy style map of the event/property. If you’ve ever wanted to dabble in cartographic arts, this is your chance! We started this project (file is in photoshop), but have recently found that our focus is on other aspects. If you’re interested we want to hear from you.
Artifact Engineer who can help us realize one of our builds. Without giving away too much, it would be built off of a pre-existing machine with RFID tech and be able to play certain sound tracks upon activation. Happy to discuss details if this is something you’re intrigued by and think you can help with.
With both of these, you’re welcome to reply to this email and I can get back, just let me know which one is of interest.
Lastly, Workshop build days are on our calendar and will encompass every Friday-Sunday through May 25th. In the coming weeks we’ll also be hosting some in the city if coming to Oakland is difficult. If you’re looking to help us build, paint, cut, affix, laugh, and play, we’d love to have you join us. Pop onto Slack, and ping me (Dr. Professor) so that I can add you to the channels.
This weekend is a soldering weekend. We’re looking for experienced and new solderers alike. This weekend we’ll also have a number of other crafting projects too. So if you’re looking for communal build days, we got you covered!

Ok! That’s all for now. Thank you for reading this far and thank you to all the build helpers and play testers who have come out. The energy is building and y’all are to thank for that.
Semper Explorandum Explorers!
