Behind the Scenes Prep ~ ExGld
Ahh, the fabled Friday dispatch! First things first, you haven’t heard much about the Tea Party Promenade because the event filled up quickly. For those of you lucky enough to grab a spot though, you should have received a reminder email this morning. If you did not get this and are expecting to go, I suggest popping into our Slack channel #0309-tea-promenade and alerting people there.
For the rest of today’s dispatch, we’re focused on more behind the scenes prep for Adventure Camp. Although registration for participants starts next week, we’re also play testing, building, and rehearsing for various elements in advance. If you are a purist and want to experience the event with as little information as possible, you can skip the rest of the dispatch. For everyone else, we invite you to be a part of why we organizers love putting on large events, which is getting to know the community of builders and dream makers in advance.
We have three methods of prep that we are actively seeking help with…
Play testing!
About a month ago we held our first play test day and we’re hosting Play Test 2!
Get ready for some moderate activity, so wear your favorite comfy shoes for running around on the grass. Since there aren't a ton of chairs or benches available, don’t forget to bring along something to sit on, like a picnic blanket, for those well-deserved breaks.
This play test is tomorrow, Saturday March 8th from 2-4pm this time in the East Bay at beautiful Snow Park, Oakland. Come join us for an exciting day filled with laughter, creativity, and your valuable feedback! If you’re planning to go, we encourage you to join the Partiful link so that we can look out for you.
We’ll do our best to keep the surprises of the event under wraps, but if you're planning to attend Adventure Camp, give us a heads up so we can keep things extra special for you. Also, for those that can’t make this particular play test there will be others!

Auditions
We are also seeking additional performers for this event. You can read the casting call here, but in short:
Some characters will be large and small performer operated puppets and some costume based. Feeling comfortable improvising in character with non-performers to advance the story is essential.
Performing participants will receive room and board for the weekend, sleeping in rustic cabins and eating healthy, delicious food prepared on-site.
Auditions: March 22nd, 2025, 11-5 in Portola neighborhood of San Francisco.
Sign up for an audition time and to receive the address here.

Workshop Days
There’s lots to build and our ambition is high. There’s room for people to take on specific builds or come in for a crafting day full of tasks and friends.
Most weekends (Friday-Sunday) from here until the end of May will likely have a build opportunity available. We’ll post them in our dispatches from time to time (especially our big craft days), but the most reliable source of this information will be in our private Adventure Camp 2025 Slack Channel. The reason for privacy is that this channel will have mild spoilers for participants.
If you’re interested in helping out, you’re encouraged to let Dr Professor know on Slack so that he may place you in the channel.

There’s so much more brewing, but for now that should be sufficient. If you can’t tell, we’re excited and we hope you are too.
