Aftel Archive, April 26th ~ ExGld
Explorers!
Over the last few weeks we’ve had a ton of focus on Adventure Camp, but we’re still doing monthly events too! This month we’re going to the Aftel Archive, a magical museum focused on scent making, perfumes, and the art of smelling. If you’re interested in joining us, be sure to heed the Call to Adventure below.
Aftel Archive, Saturday April 26th
Explorers! I’ve been thinking recently about the many ways we have been seeking recently. We have sought the great vistas from the hills of San Francisco, the tastes of many teas, a sighting of a ghost redwood, and the feeling of friendship and connection with the giving of a valentine. But we’ve neglected an important sense! Our noses! It has been quite a while since the guild visited the Aftel Archive, a place dedicated to exploring our sense of smell. If you are daring and want to let your nose do some wandering, this is your chance.
Should you decide to heed this call and join me, let me know sooner rather than later as this experience is limited in numbers.

Details
A tiny shop in Berkeley has opened up a curated experience for the nose and the invitation to explore is just too juicy to pass up. Troupe 001 will be heading to the Aftel Archive of Curious Scents on Saturday, April 26th in an effort to let our noses go on a journey of their own. We'll meet at Live Oak Park to cross the line in the sand at 1:30 and split into two groups. One group will visit the Archive while the other plays a few games and engages in a “Smell and Tell”. Then we’ll switch, and finally come together to compare notes and Semper Explorandum.
As much as we like making open invitations, this trip is limited in numbers. The Aftel Archive can only permit 10 people (per hour) in at a time. We have procured all 10 tickets for the 2 pm and 3 pm tour. If you'd like one of these tickets, please fill out this form. Ticket cost for this event is $25 for members and $35 for non-members (comes with an Explorer’s Guild membership for 2025). If the cost is a barrier to you joining, please let me know when you register. The guild may be able to support a few discounted entrances.
Explorers will need comfortable walking shoes, a few packed snacks, a jaunty hat, an optional smell to share, and of course a curious nose.

Adventure Camp - Registration is Closed!
We couldn’t have an Explorers Guild dispatch without some form of an update on the big event. For those looking to attend but didn’t register, I regret to inform you that registration has closed! We filled up earlier this week and have been messaging those that were in partial teams.
At this point, we are in full production mode. If you’d like to still attend we have two possible methods. The first is you can sign up as a standby participant. We expect the probability of pulling from this list to be very low, but you never know! You can sign up to that using this form.
The second method is to let us know if you want to help behind the scenes. You can do this by coming to our workshop days, play tests, or let us know by sending a message to ticketing@semperexplorandum.com
The weather is warming up and there’s much to look forward to. I hope our paths cross again soon.
