A Love List for Entry into Virgo Season

some things i love, on the internet and irl

Can you feel the pull to Virgo season? We drop in tonight! In my middle age years I am loving the entry into fall and winter so much. When I was physically colder (and probably not living in San Francisco) I loved summer. Now I crave the shorter days, which I can’t believe I’m saying.

I’ve been off this newsletter habit all summer, mostly getting deep into kid time. And as my re-entry, I’m offering a link fest. Usually list of links emails have me overwhelmed. So I de-whelm myself by clicking on one or two, which you’re invited to do here.

A few of my inspirations lately:

  1. LANDON TAN get on his financial advice email list. It’s fire. Everything from queer/trans money psychology and spiritual support, to budget templates that actually work!

  2. As someone who has been a student of teaching, how to teach effectively, for my entire adult life, I can say my Spanish teacher is truly excellent. I’ve been working with him on zoom for over a year and he meets me where I am in a singular way. For example he gives me assignments like: describe the five worst things to do as an astrologer. He always asks me questions which are grounded in what he knows about me to get me effortlessly practicing various verb tenses. And his tutoring is cheaper than it should be! I want him to have all the work and you to expand your sense of magic (among other things) through learning Spanish. Respond to this if you want his contact info.

  3. I’ve been yelling about Amelia Hruby for years, but this conversation between her and Seth Werkheiser I receive as deeply spiritual advice. It’s supposedly about quitting social media but it’s actually an ethos of Life Permission to bask in.

  4. Another oppressive spell breaker, Virgie Tovar - and her new podcast series talking about the problems with GLP-1s!

IN SAN FRANCISCO

  1. Art Room by the fine folks at Case for Making is the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Take your actual body to an actual building outside your home and make art and chat with other actual bodies.

  2. We Players is immersive (literally, bodily) performances in outdoor locations in San Francisco and beyond. I saw MacBeth at Fort Point and it was in the top five peak cultural events of my life. It’s impossible to describe how special and singular these plays are.

EXISTING TOGETHER FALL PLANS

My plan for this newsletter is to write about LOVE through the zodiac. Where and how it moves, where it gets blocked, what might support its flow as described through the signs and planets. Let’s see what happens! Coming in September.

Next week I’ll send an email with info on my first ever astrology reading SALE. Open that email if you want in on it.

LOVE! Happy organizing and grounding in Virgo season!
-Sarah
