Random Order #04: A Year for Optimism

Hi guys ❄️

2024 was a year full with new projects and collaborations. Last year, I took a vow to focus on sparking new network with design agencies. It was a tough one, considering the more effective and easier way out is often retaining and caring for the existing network one already has. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the trust in my work — Ponder, Village One and adlerschmidt.

Random Order #03: Design for the Common Good

Hi guys 👋

Long time no see and hear! I hope you are well. It has been a quarter since my last dispatch. I must apologise for this long overdue situation.

The recession is still in the loom and it can be confusing (in certain measures, seem paradoxical) for many of us seeking into balancing sustainable solutions and economic pressures. In the design business, we have become more precarious about how we approach our work with the growing cynicism on the political turmoil, climate change ordeals and the constant speed of technological change. How might we formulate these matters in a positive and forward-looking way, despite the recession?

Random Order: Allow me to introduce myself

My name is Evey Kwong. 👋 I was born in Malaysia and have been residing in Germany (Berlin for the last 16 year). I left Malaysia in 2007 to study at the Academy of Arts Berlin and Leipzig. After graduating with a Diplom in Graphic Design in 2013, I attained 8 years of multi-disciplinary experience as a graphic designer for the cultural and private sector.

As a designer, researcher and educator, I have been exploring new ways of using the medium of design to reimagine the possible, probable and desirable futures from different perspectives (applied and critical) for many years.
